Item Description: The Tarnished Windmill Quilt by Quiltworx was designed by Bradley and Judy Niemeyer. These instructions teach a strip piecing technique that expands on our traditional foundation paper piecing approach to complete lone star units. Strips are sewn onto foundation paper to complete a strip set After the strip sets are completed, they are cut apart, rearranged, and resewn into a diamond star point. The Tarnished Windmill star was designed using 3" strips for the strip piecing. It incorporates a paper pieced 10" windmill block and the general assembly process was designed with no Y-Seams. Finished size is 60" x 60".
General Supply List: Steam iron, ironing board, large-size cutting board, 6" by 24" ruler, small scissors, rotary cutter, seam ripper, and a sewing machine with a quarter-inch foot. Paper Piecing Supply List: 12" and 18" Add-a-quarter rulers, Scotch tape, fabric glue stic, washout glue pen, a fold template, flower pins, large Ziploc bags, a Purple Thang, size 70 sewing needles, and a high-quality cotton thread. Other handy items used to keep your templates, fabric, and papers organized, are paper clips and binder clips.
